At North East Podiatry, our experienced Podiatrists have access to a wide variety of treatment and assessment options at our Sunderland clinic. We offer modern assessment and consultation inclusive of foot pressure and gait analysis to diagnose, treat and manage conditions such as acute ankle sprain, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinopathy, peroneal tendinitis and hallux limitus.
North East Podiatry treats patients of all ages, from children to older adults, whether you are a hobby runner, footballer, golfer or pavement walker, if you have foot pain, be it heel pain or toe pain, we will be able to point you in the right direction.
HOW ASSESSMENT WORKS
In our Sunderland clinic, you will be invited in for a comprehensive assessment lasting 40 minutes. In this appointment we will take a relevant medical history, discuss the timeline of injury before beginning a static and dynamic assessment utilising gait analysis and high tech pressure analysis of the sole of the foot.
After discussing a working diagnosis with you, a bespoke rehabilitation plan will be formulated for you which can consist of elements such as directed exercise prescription, foot orthotics, specialist taping, foot mobilisation and offloading.
We operate on a goals-based system with our aim to get you back doing what you enjoy most.
SPORTS PODIATRY
North East Podiatry specialises in Biomechanics and Sports Podiatry. At our Sunderland clinic, we offer walking gait assessment and running gait assessment and consultations based around your sports injury. We offer leading foot and ankle rehabilitation and running gait retraining to help you overcome injury or prevent recurrence of injury. Recurrent running injuries such as patellofemoral pain syndrome, shin splints and plantar fasciitis can be managed by assessing underlying running biomechanics and strength with the prescription of guided prehab and rehab for injuries. Tailored running shoe recommendations and custom foot orthotics are other powerful tools which can be used to influence force acting on joints.
Foot and ankle injury are commonplace in football with ankle sprain, ankle instability, achilles tendinitis and pain in the big toe and ball of the foot commonplace. At North East Podiatry we can assess these injuries and guide you back onto the football pitch using tailored rehabilitation plans with a view to reduce recurrent injuries. Evaluation of your football boots and utilisation of specialist football specific foot orthotics can reduce in-match pain and injury recurrence.
